Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly songs that dealt with racial identity and sexuality with boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came through the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. While in college, she concentrated on her studies and majored both in women's study as well as journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. She didn't start focusing on music until she completed her degree. Her track My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a popular viral sensation via the Internet and later appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained also were viral songs like Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$. The last track was closely linked to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide, which was published in 2015. She opted to pursue a career as an actor after completing her first two endeavors, author and musician. In addition to early series that included Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In the year 2018, her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, along with Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP in Fina We Trust.
